Iris Rei is myself and my husband Bertie and the music we wrote in the time surrounding and during our travels to India. The music is inspired by my studies of Hindustani singing and Bertie’s journey into the world of synthesisers - and also heavily influenced by our experiences in India, by bereavement and births. Drawing on traditional texts and original songwriting, the music moves between acoustic and electronic worlds, unified by a distinctive Hindustani vocal style. Iris is the middle name of our daughter, Rei is the middle name of our son. This - our first EP - is of course dedicated to them. You can listen to the EP here
